For years, I stood on the frontlines for my community — as a pastor, a counselor, and a voice for the voiceless. I prayed with the brokenhearted, fought for those without power, and gave everything I had to help people rise above life’s hardest storms.
But nine years ago, my life was stolen from me.
The Brunswick District Attorney’s Office — an office now infamous for wrongful convictions — put me on trial for a crime I did not commit. They sentenced me to three life sentences.
I thought truth would protect me. I was wrong.
Recently, the Brunswick Police Department testified under oath that the DA’s office hid evidence that would have proven my innocence. Evidence they had all along. Evidence that could have sent me home to my family and my church years ago.
Instead, I have spent nearly a decade locked away — separated from the people I love, stripped from the work I was called to do, and forced to endure the crushing weight of injustice.
Now, for the first time, there is hope. But I cannot fight this battle alone.
